Grand National

I am afraid not a single finisher and we knew our fate early.  The only saving grace was that Clan Royal only came third.  A score draw.

My five against the field in order of preference:-

Le Duc 40/1 each way
Heros Collonges 80/1 each way
Royal Auclair 28/1 each way
Juveigner 28/1 each way
Le Roi Miguel  taken 400s on the exhanges will look to lay in running at 50s.

I will also being looking to lay Clan Royal.  i.e. back the horse not to win.

Sunday’s March 26th 2006 Racing

Being Mothers day and the fact the clocks have gone forward there is very little liquidity in the market today.  Very difficult to determine whether there is any value around.   Looks as if it will be just another watching day.   I really do not think though that Big Rob should be favourite so I have laid this one.  Surely Little Big Horse, Silver Knight and Latimer’s place will make it difficult.

Saturday’s racing

After having big night last night I treated myself to a copy of both the racing post and the sportsman to see which one I thought was the best.  Both are good reads and both have lots of valuable information but neither has that edge for me so I would be buying more than the occasional one.   Maybe I am different but I don’t think they understand what people want in this daily sports magazines anymore.  I also think that the bookmakers are influing a lot of what is said and more importantly what is not said.  I can not back this up with any concrete evidence so please take as you my humble opinion and nothing more.

Second day of the flat season brings us Redcar and the lincoln.  I won’t be betting but if I had a free bet I would back capable guest at 28/1 each way to 5 places.   The best value for me is in the 3.50 where obe gold at 20/1 looks a good thing.  I won’t be betting though as I have little soft ground form at Redcar to judge confidence on.

The system found a few more winners in the last copule of days so the ground conditions are settling down.  Have a lot of confidence with the top rated horses at Bangor but the prices are very restrcitive so will watch the market.  Edmo Yewkay could be a lay and also Ready to Rumble.

Newbury looks tricky although Presenting Express is a good thing but 3/1 is too small.
