I was fortunate enough to be at White Hart Lane last night to watch this Carling Cup tie.  It was a very interesting experience for me and it clearer demonstrated the lack of confidence within the Spurs team.  You don’t see that so well on TV but when you have a larger field of vision you can observe more body language and positioning.

The positives are that Robbie Keane was bright as a button and at his best.  Lennon is slowly getting back to full fitness and was a threat all night.   Steed was his usual solid self.   Defoe was sharp and hungry when he came on.  Robinson made a great save and also seemed more decisive in some of his decisions.  He did though drop a couple of crosses but he looked likes he can get back to his best.

The negatives though Dawson and Kaboul combination looked terribly.  They seem to have no confidence in each other and in the first Dawson was terrible and Kaboul not much better.  In the second half Kaboul to his surprise was substituted and immediately Dawson improved.   Darren Bent came on and was clearly mentally and physically unfit.   He really was a big disappointment.  On this note Zokora was in and out of the game and his shooting has got be seem to be believed, trust me it is bad.   Jenas was a little better but still did not get stuck in enough and lack ideas when in the penalty area.

Pascal was his usual self and played well as a centre back.  I am sure he start in this position at the weekend.  Maybe Kaboul could be moved to play the Zokora role.  No one doubts his ability but as a defender he takes too many risks.

Berbatov showed glimpses of class but I think needs to work on his overall games and movement.  A good evening though as we managed a clean sheet and progress to the next round.

Only time for one bet which was a winning bet Heavenily sent at 9/2 betfred.

One winner and one loser neither qualified for a bet though based on price.
