An interesting weekend of sport

The rugby World Cup started on Friday.   I had already laid France for the Tournament and I decided to take them on in the first game.  The pressure was always going to be on the hosts and with Argentina ranked sixth and with nothing to lose and everything to game in this game.  I really believed France were far too short at 1.17.  Unfortunately I had to do my trading on betdaq due to betfair being down on Friday night.   Terrible start to the Rugby world cup for them.  It all went pete tong around the start of the 7.20 Kempton and was really sorted until 11.30pm.  I listened to the first half of the Rugby whilst driving to my parents and thought that I stick with my original lays on France and not trade out.   Great decision number 1 of the weekend.

On Saturday I waited eagerly for the confirmed Team selection for the England cricket team.  As soon as I saw that Flintoff, Wright and Shah were in the team I was very confident England would win.  Then when Dravid elected to bat at 10.15am at Lords with history staked against him.  I was very confident that another personal selection would be a winner.   I watched the cricket throughout the day until the football started.  I did trade out at 1.08 as I did not want over confidence to ruin my weekend.  Another very tidy profit secured.

My attention then focused on the football and rugby.  I had been very confident all week about England’s chances in the football.  I felt they should have started around 1.14 mark.  Being able to secure a price of 1.35 I was pretty much over the moon.   Yes, I went in big again.   Luck was with me and England won easily 3 - 0 so no need to trade out.

For the rugby I was looking at the handicap market and I was looking to lay England.  For sure they were going to win but not by 48 points in my opinion.   I decided not to play in the end as I had already made a stake on France, both in Argentina game and for the cup.

Saturday was a fairly quite day on horse front.   The bet collection main line was unlucky when Eileen’s Violet just left it too late at 20/1 and finished second but a nice profit all the same.

Sunday I noted that that vcbet had a faller concession which I decided to cash in on.   I currently stand to  £400 worth of concession for tomorrow but I am not sure they are going to pay up.   I was playing with a friends account as mine have all been closed.  My concern is that by 4.00 I was unable to bet more than about £25.

I have managed to work a little on the racing database at the weekend and I am quietly publishing odds comparison pages but they need a little more work before I will start promoting.  If your interested you won’t find it that hard to find them.
