The yids were outplayed again this time in their own back yard and it is difficult to find positives from the game. Stalteri was uncomfortable at left back and wasted lots of good ball with poor crosses. Gardner apart from scoring was again hestitent and to blame for the first of three goals. Robinson despite some good second half saves was responsible for the 3rd goal along with Zokora for being weak in the wall. Bent, Keane and Berbatov were ineffective and lack the passion and work rate of Johnson. Jenas was sloppy with his distribution and lacked any rhythm to his game. Zokora was in and out of the game but never really got control in midfield. Steed was involved in reckless challenges and was lucky not to be sent off whilst he produced very little going forward. Pascal had an ok game but was well marshalled by the Everton defence. Defoe was typical selfish but did look the most likely to score. Routeledge lacked confidence and therefore was again pretty much useless.
Fortunately there is a big part of season gone and although we have a mountain to climb nothing is lost yet. We have Dawson and Bale to come back soon. With King and Lennon to follow.
On racing front Personal Info continued there good form with there 8th winning selection in a row for August. Unfortunately it was not a good day for one of the services. So it was a small losing day. The weather is still unsettled today but due to get better for the weekend so I am hopeful of a good end to August.
