A disastrous day for me on the gambling front   I
had 5 lay selections today and 4 of them won.  20% strike ratio is a quick
road to poor house.   Yes, it may only be one day and yes I may go
30-40 without another loser but it does put doubts in my mind.   I
was starting to ride on a high and think that March was out of my system and
April was going to return me to winning ways.   With the changing
ground conditions maybe I should have saved my powder but the prices looked
right.

Time will tell whether it was just one of those bad days of which I usually get
about 2 a year or whether it was poor judgment and it more evidence to show I
don’t know how to use the tools I have in front of me.  Like everything in
life everyday can not be a bed of roses.  The guys/girls at work watched
the last race and laughed as my lay selection romped home.

At first I was disappointed but then I remembered my thought field therapy and
that soon put everything back in perspective.  At the end of year when I
look at the accounts, it will be apparent either way whether I am cut out to
this or not.   If the answer is not then at least I gave it my best
shot over 2 years.
 

Anyway I thought I would share my dismay with you.

2.30 Fontwell The local won by a neck great ride Tony McCoy

2.50 Folkestone Roman Quest

3.00 Fontwell Herackles won despite drifting to 40s in
running.

4.00 Fontwell Here we go won easily

Ironically my only winner was called Hits only cash.

Still early days in the flat season.  I have one selection today.

3.20 Folkestone Hits only cash 5.3 (The money has come for this one.  The price looks worth opposing now may go a lot shorter though).  My money is down.  Finished: nw Profit: 2.16 points

Not much to report today.  Interesting start today at work with a few issues which are now resolved.  Good day on the horses yesterday.   Good sleep as well last night so recharging going well.    Todays racing brings Folkestone and Bath on the flat and Fontwell on the jumps.
