Well done Freddie Flintoff and the barmy army. Nice to see us win and for me made extra special because my hero Owais Shah was given a chance and played well.
Todays racing calendar throws up Chepstow and Towcester which both look uninspiring. Yesterday was a bit of disaster with Wild Oats winning at 5.7 but it is all part of the game. I worked hard on my database last night and think I am in very good shape on the laying front for the imminent flat season. It seems with a few very small modifcation I can increase the strike ratio by the magical 10%. For example the strike ratio for favourite lays is not very good for non handicap races so I won’t be laying any favourites in non handicap races this flat season. Other interesting things are that the strike ratio only improves by 2% with lays priced between 9/2 and 11/2 therefore no lays above 9/2. I still have some work to do and off course these are only stats so will require careful monitoring as 2006 maybe turn out to be very different to 2005.
