I was fortunate to watch the race and worked out as expect with Earl’s Kitchen winning and Happy Shopper never in the race. Nice. -

Lay of the day

The money is down I have elected to lay Happy Shopper. I have checked both my rating systems and neither Towerform or Brimardon have this one top rated in a fairly competetive handicap chase. Yes, everybody says it was travelling well before unseating its rider in the last race. As I have stated many times it is all about playing the number and I have Happy Shopper down as a 6/1 shot so laying at 11/4 seems a shrewd more. Namely if this rather was theorectically run 6 times I would happy shopper to only win one of the theorectically indentical races. Therefore it had laid the horse 6 times I would have only lost once and therefore would be in profit.

Exeter and 7 days to Cheltenham

A nice profit yesterday on the main site. I am hoping the mist does not cause the abandonment of Exeter today with a strike ratio of 44% and 80% in Handicap chases. The word on everyone lips is Happy Shopper but I have 3 rated above him so I could well oppose this one. May ho as short as 2/1 on heavy ground over 4 miles. Happy to take that calculated risk.
The first 2 novice hurdles should go the way of the short priced favourites so I won’t be playing. Lady maranzi could get the better of bally bolshoi which might be worth backing the pair. I like Naunton Brook, Sir Frosty and Admiral Peary in the chase.
There has been considerable money for Il’Athou this morning. Forecast price 16/1 current price 5/1. I think the value has gone there. Haloo Baloo and Visibility maybe the each way alternatives.
The final race looks too close to call.
7 days to cheltenham and my tickets have not arrived beginning to panic.
I failed to get away early yesterday manged to work from 7am - 7.30pm. Started late today at 9am but have been surgically attached to work ever since but albeit at home. I am trying. I will be ready for Cheltenham I promise.
