The pain of being a Spurs fan

Spurs missed out on Europe but one point last season.   They are currently 4th in the Premiership but are starting to fluff their lines again.  One win in the last six.   Failed to beat Sunderland last week and were lucky to get a point at home to Wigan this afternoon.   People say Spurs fans are fickle but this simply in not true.

Last week against the Sunderland it was clear that at least 8 of the Spurs players were giving it 110% and that is simply not acceptable.   The only thing Tottenham have left this season is qualification to Europe via league position.  Our whole week depends on 90 minutes and then we see are beloved team not be up for the fight.   We were out willed and out mussles by Sunderland and again today by Wigan.   Yes, it was a better performance today but the winning mentality was very scare.  Mido and Defoe were good.  Dawson played well and Keane came on did well.  Lennon did what he could and Robinson did well.  The rest unperformed and this is disappoiting and I cam emphathise with boo’s.

On the racing front the system choose My way de solzen as a lay today and it duly hacked up in its favourite conditions.   I got some money back by laying Pietro Vannucci and Woodsland Glenpower (only 40% money got matched on this one).  I blow this on livingonknifeedge as I laid this in running.  Oh well no harm done just proves don’t play on the exchanges when you are depressed.  I was depressed because of Spurs performance.

Next week there is some great football to look forward with Arsenal playing Real Madrid and Chelsea entertaining Barcelona.   Joe Cole got some much needed fantasy points for me today.

I have just checked and the racing at Carlisle is off tomorrow.  So a day which is nice.  I am not planning to bet on the all weather racing again until 2008.  As such will not be involved with Wolverhampton or Lingfield tomorrow.

Tuesday brings Exeter and Sedgefield which look promising.  Wednesday there is Doncaster and Lucky Ludlow.   Thursday’s racing brings Haydock and Huntingdon.   Friday gives us Sandown and Warwick.   With the rain around it may be a quiet week.

Cheltenham is just 3 week away now so I beginning to get very excited again.  Well time to go and find a quiet room to feel the pain of being a Spurs fan.
