An interesting day in the end

Tarlac was laid at evens and won easily.   I decided that Cool Song and Victory Roll were under priced at 4/1, so I laid them both to make a small profit on the day.    Tomorrow’s card does look that great either.  Oh well should be getting some casdh back from sporting odds which will be nice.

31st January

Only Folkestone survives the weather.   The card is very uninspiring.  I am thinking that TarLac is a lay today at around the evens mark but I want to be sure of the ground conditions first.  Lets hope we get it right and end January on a high note.

Traditionally January is a tough month but Febraury usually brings us joy.

A day to forget

Ludlow has been very good to me in the past but not today.  Sardagna fell well getting in contention 2 out.  Miss Skippy was very disappointing.  Spike Jones was never in it either.   On laying side Umbrella Man drifted like made, so I decided to lay at 4.5 in running and it bolted up ouch.  Got one lay back as EdeIff fell.

If I kept to the strategy of trading favourite that has drifted would have been laughing oh well, aftertiming is a luxury I don’t have.  Could have been worse and not to much damage done to the account.   Only risked 6 points better and could have laid much higher than 4.5.  3 more successful lays and I am back in the money.

Lucky Ludlow

The money is down in 3.00 Handicap Hurdle.  Sardagna and Miss Skippy.   And in the 4.00 Ludlow Spike Jones.

Looking to lay EdeIff in Handicap Chase hoping for 4/1.  And at Southwell Umbrella Man looking for around 5/2 mark.

Weekend Over

The weekend is nearly over.   Most of the racing was called off.  My team Spurs are already out of the cup so has not been a great weekend.  To top all found out that racing post had changed the way they serve pages and it no longer works with sockets.   I fixed that to find out they have changed the layout on all the pages so spent most of Sunday fixing that.

The heavy cold that is going around has not taken a stronghold in my body and have not be feeling at all well today and only have work to look forward to tomorrow.  It looks unlikely that lucky Ludlow will be on tomorrow so the racing is taking a bit of back burner for the time being.

Cheltenham Off

They were confident it would be on but unfortunately it is not to be.

Problems with sockets

My lovely code to get the racing results by using socket connections to racing post has suddenly failed and I can work out why.  This is very bad news.    Time to pray!

Cheltenham tomorrow

Looking forward to Cheltenham tomorrow.  I think my involvement will be more on laying side at Cheltenham.  Albuherra has faired well for us of late and he may be worth a bet.  If Westender goes off a hugh price on exchanges will have a few quid coz he may regain his form.  In the novice chase whispered secret could be a fair price.

Chepstow excites me too tomorrow.  Lets hope the weather does not ruin what could be a good days racing even if it just a spectacle with no money on.

Happy with that

Well the money came late for Rockery Lad.  Laid at 4.1 and laid The Holy be at 4.4.    As expected Rockery Lad’s stamina let him down.   Was very surprised at how well the holy be ran and maybe it would have been better just to have backed our second rated sconced as Sunny South East never go into the race.   If and buts the essence of gambling but at the end of the day another profit secured and the is the aim of the game.

Friday’s racing

Nothing stands out today.  Maybe a lay there if the money comes for Rockery Lad or The HolyBe but other that I am saving my power for the weekend’s racing.
